Blender Studio just handed every working artist a complete production: a finished 4K HDR short film, every asset, every frame, every production log, all under a Creative Commons license, for free. That is not a marketing move. That is a curriculum. |
This week: Blender Studio ships Singularity with its full production pipeline open to download, Autodesk quietly launches a free browser-based kitbasher, and the co-founder of ComfyUI explains how a hobby project became a VFX production tool. |

Blender Studio's Singularity Is a Free, Fully Open 4K HDR Production - Assets Included |
Directed by Andy Goralczyk, Singularity is Blender Studio's first 4K HDR film, built on the most recent in-development build of Blender. The crew expanded the Brushstroke Tools library and used Geometry Nodes to build a procedural crowd system. Every asset, frame, breakdown, and weekly production log ships free under Creative Commons. The procedural crowd work and Geometry Nodes setups alone are worth the download if you are hitting those problems on a current show. Read the full breakdown on 80.lv → |
Blender Studio released a full pipeline, not just a film. The watercolor look and the Geometry Nodes crowd rig are now yours to reverse-engineer. |

 | Tools · cgchannel.com Autodesk's Free Project Falcon Lets You Kitbash Hard Surface Models in a Browser and Export to Maya or Blender Project Falcon is a browser-based tech preview that lets you assemble hard surface models from a library of thousands of parts, with Boolean operations and mirror tools built in. Exports come out in USD format, so the geometry lands cleanly into 3ds Max, Blender, Cinema 4D, Houdini, and Maya. It runs in Chrome with a free Autodesk account. If you are doing concept design or blocking out sci-fi vehicle props before they go to a modeler, this removes the friction of opening a full DCC just to rough something out. |

 | Tech · fxguide.com ComfyUI Co-Founder Yannik Marek Explains How the Tool Moved From Stable Diffusion Experiments Into VFX Production Pipelines Mike Seymour's fxpodcast #333 sits down with Yannik Marek (ComfyAnonymous) on the origins of ComfyUI, its graph-based workflow model, and a recent partnership with StabilityAI. The conversation covers how visual effects artists are now using it to generate complex animated AI shot sequences and train custom models. If you have been watching ComfyUI from a distance, this is the episode that maps where it is going, and whether your pipeline needs to make room for it now rather than later. |

His credits include Ad Astra, Skyscraper, Madagascar 3, and Puss in Boots. Digital Domain's global VFX president Sudhir Reddy described the hire as aligned with the studio's mission to expand its India footprint. A senior supervisor-level appointment in Hyderabad signals that the studio is pushing the India office up the creative chain, not just the execution one. |

Closing thought Three things in this issue are free: a finished 4K HDR film with its full asset library, a browser-based kitbasher from Autodesk, and a podcast that maps where ComfyUI is going. The cost of getting current on technique just dropped to zero. The cost of ignoring it has not. |
▸ One more thing We're building a small ComfyUI cohort, quietly. For working VFX artists. Founding group only. Affordable launch pricing. Dates lock soon. Be the first to know. Add me to the list →No commitment. We reach out when it's locked. |
